I’ve been visiting the Flint Institute of Arts museum for years and have been ordering the London Fog Lavender tea from The Palette Cafe. I love the flavour of this tea, and I’ve been meaning to get lunch here now for some time. Today, I talked my son into eating here for lunch and we had the Caprese sandwiches. The sandwich is made on homemade bread from Detroit, with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes , onions and pesto sauce. The sandwich was slightly grilled and came with a pickle. The sandwich was substantial and tasty, the pickle was crisp, the tea was hot and soothing and the server was kind and professional. We sat outside the cafe and enjoyed the ambiance of being near the museum. The sandwiches are a little more expensive than a submarine shop, but they were great quality and tasted delicious! I really enjoyed my lunch and if you’re out and about and want to try a new place to eat or you want to go to a museum and stop in for a quick lunch or tea, try out Palette’s cafe.

I tried the veggie wrap today and was positively surprised. Very good, lots of flavor. Recently, I tried the veggie wrap at Steady Eddie's at the Flint Farmers Market and the Palette Cafe is far better, hands down. Less expensive, as well. Kudos to the great staff at the FIA's Palette Cafe!

Would have given 5 stars as I love the remodel of the cafe, the worker there was very nice, and the new menu has a good selection. However, I did think the atmosphere of the whole cafe was very sterile and could have used some decoration, color, or some artwork to make it stand out more. Overall, great experience though.

Delicious, fresh, and I love their daily soup selection. I have yet to find a soup I didn't like. I do have to add that they only make so much of each soup per day. On more than one occasion, my sons and I took the last of the pot. Just in time! It's also right next to the gift shop, which is lovely and sells works produced in their glassblowing demonstrations.
